Thank you for your replies. I respectfully still disagree that a competition is the place to work your dog through its training problems... not many sports let you dog that. The UKC, to be blunt, has a horrible reputation with serious dog sport people in the areas of "protection" and "agility" (not so much their obedience). In agility, I know, the dogs are actually allowed to go in and get used to the equipment before running. In no other registry is this considered necessary.
In the dog pulling, I understand that no one has to make their dog complete a pull, but what I don't understand is if a dog turns or tangles or quits, in IWPA or APA the dog is pulled through. And the dogs do fine. Where I strongly disagree is that THEN the dog gets to still keep competing. See what I mean?
